إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا أَخَذَ وَلَهُ مَا أَعْطَى وَكُلُّ شَىْءٍ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ بِأَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى فَلْتَصْبِرْ وَلْتَحْتَسِبْ
Voorwaar, aan Allah behoort wat Hij genomen heeft en aan Hem behoort wat Hij gegeven heeft. Alles heeft bij Hem een vastgesteld tijdstip. Heb dus geduld en hoop op de beloning.
Zij stuurde de boodschapper echter terug en zweerde dat hij zal komen. Daarop vertrok de profeet ﷺ en met hem was Sa’d ibn ‘Oebaadah, Moe’aadh ibn Djabal, Oebayy ibn Ka’b, Zayd ibn Thaabit en andere mannen (moge Allah tevreden met hen zijn). Het kind werd bij de boodschapper van Allah ﷺ gebracht, terwijl hij rochelde van de dood.
Hierop liepen de ogen van de profeet ﷺ over van de tranen. Waarop Sa’d vroeg: O boodschapper van Allah, wat is dit? De profeet ﷺ antwoordde: Dit is genade die Allah in de harten van Zijn dienaren heeft geplaatst. (In een andere overlevering staat: In de harten van wie Hij wil onder Zijn dienaren.) Voorwaar, het zijn slechts degene met genade van onder Zijn dienaren die Allah zal begenadigen.”
