Alle lof komt toe aan Allah de Heer der werelden. …zegt Allah (verheven is Hij): Mijn dienaar heeft Mij geprezen. Wanneer de dienaar zegt:
الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
De Meest Barmhartige, de Meest Genadevolle.
…zegt Allah (verheven is Hij): Mijn dienaar heeft Mij geroemd. Wanneer de dienaar zegt:
مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ
De Bezitter van de dag van de afrekening.
…zegt Allah: Mijn dienaar heeft Mij verheelijkt. Wanneer de dienaar zegt:
إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ
U alleen aanbidden wij en U alleen vragen wij om hulp.
…zegt Allah: Dit is tussen Mij en Mijn dienaar en Mijn dienaar zal datgene krijgen wat hij vraagt. Wanneer de dienaar zegt:
اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ
صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ الضَّالِّينَ
Leid ons op het rechte pad. Het pad van degenen die U begunstigd hebt, niet van degenen op wie de Woede rust, noch van de dwalenden.
